Extreme adventure
HOLLYWOOD funnyman Will Ferrell is hanging up his comedy slacks and venturing into the wild frontiers of Mother Nature in Men vs Wild: Will Ferrel Special. Who better to give the guided tour than survival expert Bear Grylls himself?
Over a punishing 48 hours, Will gamely takes on numerous physically challenging skills without ever losing his infectious sense of humour pacing through real life survival in the ice-bound moutain and glacier ranges in Sweden’s far north.
Unlikely duo: Men vs Wild: Will Ferrell Special featuring Will Ferrell (left) and show host Bear Grylls. Together, Bear and Will tandem-abseil off a helicopter, rappel off a 30-meter rock and ice cliff face, battle their way through deep snowdrifts, build a shelter to brave the sub-zero temperatures, and navigate their way through the inside of an ice waterfall.
They also set traps for small rodents and make snow shoes from saplings, drink their own urine and snack on reindeer eyeballs.
Men vs Wild: Will Ferrell Special premieres on Discovery Channel (Astro channel 551) on Aug 3 (9pm) with repeats on Aug 4 (midnight), Aug 8 (6pm) and Aug 9 (10am).
In conjunction with the premiere, Discovery Channel is giving away 20 pairs of movie passes to watch Ferrell’s latest movie, Land Of The Lost (which opens in Malaysian cinemas on July 23), plus Discovery Channel goodie bags, comprising sleeping bags, notebooks and pens.
