Keane in Singapore
BRITPOP outfit Keane, yet another top notch live act, has announced a concert in Singapore. The band led by singer Tom Chaplin will play at Fort Canning Park in Singapore on Aug 13. Once regarded as a melancholy, rainy day act, Keane has transformed itself into a lively, energetic force on stage and these days you tend to find Chaplin getting the concert aisles up to dance.
As reported on several of the band’s recent sold-out shows in the United States, the masses have a whole new Keane experience on the cards with the band’s latest release, the electro-inspired Perfect Symmetry. Released last year, the new material has put the groove into Keane’s music and it is a distinct shift in sound from earlier albums Hopes And Fears (2004) and Under The Iron Sea (2006).
In concert, Keane has been known to be total entertainers with its breakout song, Everybody’s Changing, threaded between other notable hits like Bend And Break, Is It Any Wonder?, Bedshaped and We Might As Well Be Strangers and the more uptempo tracks off Symmetry like Again & Again.
Keane’s line-up is completed by bassist and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, and drummer Richard Hughes.
