Foxy lady
By Gordon Kho
MEGAN Fox has a big mouth and she isn’t afraid to use it. The sexy actress has gotten herself into a lot of trouble over the things she had said in various interviews (she likened director Michael Bay to a dictator and dissed Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron as pretty boys).
However, the 23-year-old doesn’t just want to be known as the actress who sticks her foot in her mouth in every interview or that hottie from Transformers. She wants some recognition for her acting chops as well.
She hopes to do so with the release of the horror flick, Jennifer’s Body, in which Fox plays the titular character who terrorises the boys in high school.
“This film has been the first time I’ve broken down my walls and let my emotions out, and that is priceless; it has really helped me (in terms of acting),” Fox reveals in the cover story of Galaxie’s Nov 1 issue, out on newsstands now.
But Fox is not writing off the fact that it is her looks that has won her the attention and movie roles.
“I do appreciate that I have something and I am grateful for whatever it is I have because I think it is going to help me get jobs and allow me to work on my skills and build my craft so that I can be a legitimate actress.”
Although millions of people around the world think she is one of the (if not the!) hottest women in Hollywood, Fox reveals that she is not secure with her looks. And, just because she is beautiful doesn’t mean she has zero personality.
Fox explains: “I can tell you that I have met endless so-called beautiful people who don’t seem to have personalities or their own direction in life. They often seem listless and they’ve never been forced to develop their characters because they are viewed as being so physically attractive. I’m confident in who I am as a person, and I am confident intellectually and emotionally.”
Speaking of confidence, Lindsay Lohan’s esteem must have been crushed at the recent Paris Fashion Week when the fashion critics trashed her first collaboration with the Ungaro label. Galaxie takes a look at the disastrous dresses that hit the runway.
On a more positive note, Backstreet Boys tells us in an exclusive interview that, like wine, they get better with age. The quartet was in Singapore to promote their new album, This Is Us. “We have obviously gone on a journey musically and as artistes through the last 17 years,” says AJ McLean.
“We were kind of searching again to find ourselves. We came back with This Is Us, being the pop R&B vocalists, (making) a lot of harmonies, great melodies (and) bringing the dance element back and the usual BSB mid-tempos and ballads. I think this is one of our best records to date.”
Other interesting highlights in the magazine include how Pixie Lott got busted on Facebook, Gerard Butler’s fascination with nude scenes and Lady Gaga’s guest appearance on Gossip Girl.
Music fans will be delighted with the prizes that are up for grabs such as CDs by Paramore, Pitbull and Tata Young as well as Michael Jackson’s This Is It T-shirts.
