Encore for best show
MTV Networks International (MTVNI) and Swiss watchmaker Swatch announced an extension of their multi-million dollar, award-winning partnership for the latest series of MTV’s user-generated content show, MTV’s Best. Show. Ever.
The 2008 partnership builds on 2007’s UGC concept and makes the show and website more interactive, as well as extending the show to mobile TV and taking it to MTV Asia channels.
Viewers can expect to see the exciting line up in several markets, namely Singapore and Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Australia.
Said Kevin Razvi, EVP of MTV Networks International and VBSi in a press release: “One of our 2008 priorities is to deepen our relationships with our partners. We’re using our creative innovation, and unique global cross-platform reach - on TV, mobile TV and digital - to build remarkable and creative campaigns that resonate with our global audiences and deliver for our clients.”
In this show, viewers send in video of themselves doing something they love, be it best balancing act ever, best DIY rave ever or best human computer game ever.
In Europe MTVNI are producing 15 five-minute shows with the first phase airing in June and July. The second instalment will air later in the summer.
The shows will also run on the eight MTV mobile channels in Europe covering the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands and Sweden.
MTV Asia channels will first air the 2007 European shows to introduce audiences to the concept before showing the 2008 programmes combined with local content.
There will also be a competition to find the best user generated clip running in programming time. In total, the show will air on 22 MTV channels, eight mobile channels in Europe and seven TV channels in Asia.
