New Year countdown with Leo Ku

Hong Kong artiste Leo Ku will be ushering in the New Year with his fans at Genting’s Arena of Stars.
Following his Magic Moments 2007 tour concert at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, last Christmas, Leo Ku is back this year to lead fans to a rousing countdown at the Arena of Stars, Genting – City of Entertainment, on New Year’s Eve.
Starting off in showbiz as a TVB entertainment news presenter and host of Jade Solid Gold music show in 1992, Ku turned singer in 1994 with his Cantopop album Explanation of Love.
Actor and Cantopop singer Leo Ku, named Favourite Artiste of Hong Kong at MTV Asia Awards 2008, will hold a concert in Genting on New Year’s Eve. The 36-year-old entertainer has come a long way since becoming the first singer to win all four newcomer gold awards from Hong Kong’s radio and TV stations.
He was also named Favourite Artiste of Hong Kong at MTV Asia Awards 2008, which was held at Genting’s Arena of Stars in August.
Ku is one of the few Cantopop singers who uses falsetto to perfection; he has been commended by Taiwan-based R&B star David Tao. Ku has also been referred to as one of the New Four Heavenly Kings – along with Hacken Lee, Andy Hui and Edmond Leung – by none other than evergreen Hong Kong entertainer Alan Tam.
Apart from his base in Hong Kong, his concert tours have taken him to Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Canada and China.
The singer-cum-actor has more than 30 albums and a dozen feature films (including voiceovers for animations) under his belt.
His smash hit album Jade Solid Gold, named after a popular music show of the same name, hit double platinum (100,000 copies) two months after its release, and became one of Hong Kong’s top 10 albums in 2005.
The theme song of the album, Solid Gold Hits, is also one of Ku’s most popular songs.
Leo Ku New Year’s Eve Live in Genting is organised by Genting – City of Entertainment. The one-night show will be staged at the Arena of Stars on Dec 31 at 8pm.
Tickets are selling at RM100, RM170, RM250, RM350 and RM470. The first 1,000 tickets purchased are entitled to a 20% discount (except VIP tickets).
No admission for infants and children below age three. Children aged three and above require tickets for admission.
